Mezica Tournament |
2007 - 2nd place!
Friday 24th - Sunday 26th August
9 players travelled by train to Maribor and then were taken to the tournament location in Mezica
They played 4 matches in the tournament: 2 group matches (victory over the hosts, followed by a big loss to the tournament favourites), the semi-final against the Slovakian team (won thanks to wickets from Zoli and big scores from Kristof and Andy), the final (a closer encounter with the strongest team, Velden Veterans, with Comenius losing with one over to go)
To get to the final was a great achievement and everybody played their part |

9 játékos vonattal utazott Mariborba ahonnan később a meccsek színhelyére, Mežicába vitték őket
A versenyen 4 meccset játszottak: 2 csoport mérkőzést (melyben nyertek a házigazdák ellen, majd veszítettek a verseny legerősebb csapata ellen). Később a Szovákia elleni elődöntő (nyertek, Zoli dobásainak és Kristóf és Andy ütéseinek) amit a döntő követett ahol szoros játszmában vereséget szenvedtek a győztes Velden Veterans ellen

A döntőbe való eljutás nagy eredmény volt melyből mindenki kivette a maga részét |

10 players travelled to the tournament, but lost both matches to the experienced national Slovakian team and to Slovenian side Bela Krajina, so they didn't make the semi-finals
The bowling and fielding of Comenius were tight, but the batting let the side down |

10 játékos utazott el a versenyre, de vereséget szenvedtek a tapasztalt Szlovák nemzeti válogatott és a Szlovén Bela Krajina ellen, így nem jutottak be az elődöntőbe sem
Dobásban és fieldelésben jók voltunk de teljesítményünk az ütést illetően gyengének bizonyult |

We lost our first two matches to Velden and Mezica, but both were close and we should have won the second match
We won our last two matches against Bela Krajina and Maribor quite easily to win the cup for third place
Zoli (average: 37) and Atka batted superbly, the bowling was good, but the fielding was up and down (Andy messed up two run-outs against Mezica, but got one against Bela Krajina, while Claudia had a superb direct hit from backward point against them) |

Majd a következő 2 meccsen könnyű gyózelmet arattunk Bela Krajina és Maribor ellen, így megszerezve a 3. helyezettnek járó kupát
Zoli (átlag: 37) és Atka kiválóan ütöttek, a dobás megfelelő volt, ám fieldelésben a teljesítmény ingadozó volt (Andy 2x hibázott Mežica ellen, de jól teljesített Bela Krajina ellen, míg Claudia egy gyönyörű run out-ot dobott ellenük) |
